Leonard Tillman of Wicomico Church was recently elected to the board of directors of the Northern Neck Orchestra, reported Ammon Dunton, chairman of the board.
Tillman retired in 2015 from a career in accounting with the Maryland firm Tillman & Santoni, LLC. A specialty of his company was tax rules pertaining to non-profit corporations.
“Len’s financial expertise, along with his interests in music, are valuable assets for our organization,” said Dunton.
Trumpet, baritone, and bass guitar are Tillman’s primary instruments. For several years he played bass with a big band in Baltimore, Sentimental Journey. “I enjoy all musical genres, playing piano and bass, and attending NNO concerts,” Tillman said.
Elected at the December 10 meeting of the orchestra’s board, Tillman will begin his three-year term on January 1 and serve as a member of the audit and public relations committees.
