2017-2018 Season

The Northern Neck Orchestra’s 2017-2018 concert season will be filled with impassioned performances of glorious orchestral music performed by musicians from our community. Music Director Michael Repper returns to conduct the orchestra with the energy and verve that have made our concerts enriching, inspiring and entertaining.


Autumn Pastoral
Saturday, October 14, 2017– 7:30 p.m.
Lancaster Middle School Theatre, Kilmarnock

The season kicks off this fall with Rossini’s rapid-fire Overture to The Barber of Seville, a performance of Saint-Saens’ Cello Concerto and Beethoven’s endearing Sixth Symphony, the Pastoral.


An Evening with Mozart

An all-Mozart winter concert warms up a chilly March evening. The winter concert includes Mozart’s splendid Piano Concerto No. 20 and his Symphony No. 40.


Dances and Fantasies
Friday, May 4 – 7:30 p.m.
Lancaster Middle School Theatre, Kilmarnock

Our spring concert features a rousing and romantic evening of dances and fantasies accompanied by the Chesapeake Chorale, Dr. Cheryl Brown Davis, Artistic Director. Selections include excerpts from Bizet’s Carmen and L’Arlesienne Suites, Brahms’ Liebeslieder Waltzes with the Chorale, and Beethoven’s Fantasy for Choir, Orchestra, and Piano. This last piece will feature NNO’s Music Director Michael Repper conducting from the piano, joined by the Chorale.

Three Programs, three Venues, Four Performances, One Special Orchestra. The Northern Neck Orchestra brings together more than 50 talented musicians with an enthusiastic audience of hundreds who love live performances of classical music. We make it easy to attend our concerts by performing at locations near you. Our fall and spring concerts will be performed at the Lancaster Middle School Theatre in Kilmarnock. thee winter all-Mozart concert will be performed at two different venues on consecutive evenings. Choose to attend this concert at either the St. Clare Walker Middle School Theatre in Locust Hill or the Northumberland High School Theatre in Heathsville. Open seating is offered at all locations, so you can sit together with family and friends. We look forward to seeing you at our concerts and are gratified for your continuing support.
