The Northern Neck Orchestra, under the Direction of Michael Repper, presents
The opening concert of the Northern Neck Orchestra’s 2021-2022 concert season on November 6 at the Lancaster Middle School Theater in Kilmarnock features colorful compositions by Ludwig van Beethoven and George Gershwin and a lively work by Arturo Marquez, the famous Mexican composer.
“The Northern Neck Orchestra’s 2021-2022 concert season marks the 30th year of performances by the orchestra since its founding in 1991,” said Music Director Michael Repper. “The exciting program for our first concert of the season gets our anniversary year off to a great start.”
The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be preceded by a pre-concert talk at 6:45 p.m. Tickets for the performance are $36.00. Season tickets for all three concerts for the 2021-2022 season are $90.00.

The orchestra will follow all applicable COVID-19 public health regulations at its performances to safeguard concertgoers and musicians.
The program includes Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, and Marquez’s epic dance fusion, Danzon No. 2. Both the Gershwin and Marquez works feature Repper at the piano.
“This concert bridges a wide array of musical eras and styles,” said Repper. “From Beethoven’s classical style through Gershwin and Marquez’s jazz and dance integrations, our November concert will send you out the door buzzing.”
