Brian began playing bass in 5th grade in the spring program in Prince William County. “I thought it was cool, and I was tall, so it seemed like a good fit!”
Throughout school in Prince William and Fairfax Counties, he performed with county orchestras, regional orchestras, and took private lessons. In college, studying engineering, he performed with the New River Valley Symphony while continuing private lessons. After college, his playing fell off some, but was rekindled when he moved back to Christiansburg and began playing with the New River Valley Symphony as the principal bass. After moving to the Middle Peninsula, Bruce Biurgess told him about the Northern Neck Orchestra, and Brian has been with it ever since.
Brian has an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech, and a Masters of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary. He currently serves as the pastor of New Hope United Methodist Church in Glenns.
