Northern Neck Orchestra Chamber Music Series
2024-2025
The Northern Neck Orchestra's 2024-2025 Chamber Music Series will feature a delightful range of musical styles for guitar ensemble and classic compositions by a wide array of great composers, including George Gershwin, Felix Mendelssohn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Franz Schubert.

Music for Guitar Ensemble
The Chamber Music Series will kick off on at 2:00 p.m. September 8, 2024 at Good Luck Cellars with “Music for Guitar Ensemble,” performed by the Tidewater Guitar Orchestra.
The group features more than a dozen accomplished guitarists who use traditional classical guitars supplemented by requintos (soprano guitars tuned a fifth higher) and bajas (baritone guitars tuned a fourth lower) to explore a rich repertoire from Bach to Bartok as well as music of the Americas.
This concert performance is partially supported by funding from
the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts

The season continues with “Music for Violin and Piano” at 2:00 p.m. on November 10, 2024 at Grace Episcopal Church, performed by Moises Cunha, violin, and Daniel Inamorato, piano.
The concert includes Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 22 in A major, Igor Stravinsky’s Suite Italienne, Bela Bartok’s Romanian Folk Dances and Edward Elgar’s Sonata for Violin and Piano in E minor.
The season continues with “Music for Violin and Piano” at 2:00 p.m. on November 10, 2024 at Grace Episcopal Church, performed by Moises Cunha, violin, and Daniel Inamorato, piano.

The members of the octet include Moises Cunha, violin, Nusheen Farahani, violin, Jane Lenz, viola, Lee Richey, cello, Sam Zagnit, double bass, Iura de Rezende, clarinet, Lauren Hunt, horn and Michael Matushek, bassoon.
The season will conclude with “Music for Mixed String and Wind Octet” at 2:00 p.m. on March 30, 2025 at Good Luck Cellars with a performance of Franz Schubert’s Octet in D major.
