The Northern Neck Orchestra will host its third annual Chamberfest with three concerts featuring a rich variety of chamber music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Aaron Copland, Florence Price, Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann and others.

Music for Flute and Piano on June 25 will be performed by Chelsea Kaye Anderson, flute, and Dasha Bukhartseva, piano.
The concert showcases Robert Schumann’s Fantasiestucke for Flute and Piano, Otar Taktakishvili’s Sonata for Flute and Piano, Camille Saint-Saëns Romance for Flute and Piano Opus 37, Franz Schubert’s Five Lieder, arranged for solo piano by Franz Liszt, and Aaron Copland’s Duo for Flute and Piano.
Members of the New Orleans-based Delachaise Ensemble will perform Music for String Quartet on June 27. The quartet includes Northern Neck Orchestra violinists Moises Cunha and Elizabeth Almond Crute Cunha, cellist Jake Fowler and violist Catherine Matushek.
The concert features Bedrich Smetana’s String Quartet No. 1, Florence Price’s String Quartet in G major and William Bolcom’s Three Rags for String Quartet.
Flutist Chelsea Anderson and pianist Dasha Bukhartseva will join the Delachaise Ensemble for the final Chamberfest concert, Music for Piano, Flute and Strings, on June 30.
The group will perform Johann Sebastian Bach’s Flute Sonata in E, Bach’s Trio Sonata from The Musical Offering and Robert Schumann’s Piano Quintet in E flat major.

MUSICIANS
Chelsea Kaye Anderson, a piccolo soloist and flutist residing in Northern Virginia, is Principal Flute of the Northern Neck Orchestra and performs piccolo with orchestras in Virginia, Maryland and Ohio. She earned her master’s degree in Piccolo Performance at the Peabody Conservatory and bachelor’s degrees in Flute Performance and Music Education from the Ithaca College School of Music. Anderson is the director of the Northern Virginia Woodwind Academy.
Dasha Bukhartseva has won top prizes in over 30 international piano competitions and performs to wide acclaim as a soloist and chamber musician across North America and Europe. She has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and many other venues, including concerts of the Northern Neck Orchestra Chamber Music Series. Her performances have been featured on American, Ukrainian and Belgian radio.
Elizabeth Almond Crute Cunha, a member of the Northern Neck Orchestra, has performed with numerous orchestras and ensembles, including the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra, Brevard Philharmonic, Augusta Symphony, North Georgia Chamber Orchestra, and Hendersonville Symphony Chamber Orchestra. She is the co-Director of the Crescent City String Academy and the founder and artistic director of the Crescent City String Camp & Festival.
Moises Cunha, the Concertmaster, Principal Violinist and Artist-in-Residence of the Northern Neck Orchestra, is the Artistic Director of Chamberfest and the Northern Neck Orchestra Chamber Music Series. The Brazilian-born violinist, music educator and recording artist performs regularly with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra in New Orleans. He has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician with the Bahia Symphony Orchestra and Porto Alegre Symphony Orchestra.
Jake Fowler is the Founding Director of the Surf and Sounds Chamber Music Series on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He frequently performs with the Houston and San Antonio Symphonies and is a Festival Artist at the Crescent City Chamber Music Festival in New Orleans. He was a faculty member and performer at last year’s Chamberfest. Fowler also has performed with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, Norfolk Chamber Consort and Hampton Roads Chamber Players.
Catherine Matushek is a member of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and the New Orleans-based Radio Bird Quartet, a non-traditional string quartet that performs original arrangements of pop and rock tunes. She was a member of the Erie Philharmonic, Firelands Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Pops Orchestra and CityMusic Cleveland Chamber Orchestra. Matushek received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music.
